Vishal Mishra is a singer-songwriter from India. He is widely recognized for his compositions for Bollywood films. Originally from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra pursued his education in Lucknow. His first appearance on television was during a reality show broadcast on DD National. Although he auditioned for Indian Idol, he was ultimately disqualified from the competition. In the early stages of his music career, Mishra received mentorship from Lalit Pandit, who is part of the Jatin–Lalit composer duo.

Mishra began his career as a composer in 2016 with the Tamil movie Devi. The following year, he created the song "Jaane De", performed by Atif Aslam, which was included in the soundtrack for Qarib Qarib Singlle. Additionally, he wrote songs for Munna Michael, which was also where
he made his singing debut, and for the Marathi film FU: Friendship Unlimited. His first project of 2018 was the "Rafta Rafta" tune for Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. The music video includes a special appearance by Salman Khan. Following that, Mishra created the romantic track "Selfish," which was both written by and features Khan, for the action movie Race 3. He also composed the title song for Veere Di Wedding, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania.
